CMHC Eco Plus
Sagen Energy Efficiency Rebate
Canada Guaranty Energy-Efficient Homes Program
✔ Applies to recently purchased homes
✔ Valid in BC, Alberta, and Ontario
How It Works
Step | Description |
---|---|
1️⃣ Book an EnerGuide Evaluation | We’ll inspect your home and produce a certified energy rating. |
2️⃣ Receive Your EnerGuide Report | This includes your home’s energy score and upgrade recommendations. |
3️⃣ Submit to Your Insurer | Upload your report to CMHC, Sagen, or Canada Guaranty’s rebate portal. |
4️⃣ Receive Your Refund | If eligible, you’ll receive a refund on part of your mortgage insurance premium. |
🕒 Most evaluations take 1–2 hours. Reports are usually ready within a few days.
Who Qualifies?
You’re likely eligible if:
You purchased your home within the last 2 years
You used CMHC, Sagen, or Canada Guaranty mortgage insurance
Your home meets or exceeds minimum energy performance thresholds
📌 Homes with efficient heating systems or basement insulation often qualify automatically — even without new upgrades.
